Ett Hem

This stylish Stockholm hotel is taking over two townhouses to celebrate its tenth anniversary

Ett Hem, which is Swedish for ‘a home’, already epitomises effortless luxury – and its latest additions are a design lover’s dream come true.

Ever since opening its doors in 2012 – following a meticulous conversion from a private residence – Ett Hem has enchanted guests with its down-to-earth service, homely atmosphere, and informally elegant interiors. The Arts and Crafts townhouse in Lärkstaden, a residential area on Östermalm in Stockholm, is celebrating its tenth anniversary with an exciting expansion.

Swedish owner Jeanette Mix and long-time friend Ilse Crawford, the creative mind behind beloved British interiors brand Studioilse, have once again come together to work their oh-so-detailed design magic by respectfully refurbishing and carefully curating adjacent townhouses on Sköldungagatan 4 and 6, breathing new life into the neighbouring buildings.

In addition, Ett Hem is creating three residences for longer stays and a full-scale gym for hotel guests on Sköldungagatan 6, which expects to welcome its first guests this autumn.

“It is an honour to be part of Ett Hem’s ongoing story together with Jeanette and her team. Evolving something that works well and that people love requires careful handling; we are designing to enhance an experience, not just expand it. The beautiful neighbouring houses have the same subtle qualities of warmth and comfort embedded into the design and operations simultaneously. Ett Hem is a world to feel utterly at home in when you are there, and long to return to when you are not,” says Ilse Crawford, Founder & Creative Director of Studioilse.
