1. Juliana Hotel Brussels, Brussels – Belgium

Perfectly placed on the historical Place des Martyrs in Brussels, Juliana Hotel officially opened its doors in September last year – but this stylish newcomer has already made quite the name for itself as an urban bolthole for ‘bleisure’ travellers. Behind the white façade of the listed neo-classical building lie 43 individually designed rooms and suites, an Italian-inspired fine-dining restaurant and a wellness centre. Italian designer Eugenio Manzoni leans into the rich heritage of the property, layering all floors with rare pieces from the hotel owner’s private collection. Exquisite motifs meet one-of-a-kind sculptures and dramatic wallpaper to create an elegant space. This autumn, the hotel will offer a series of exclusive private tours where guests can immerse themselves in the stories of five of the city’s treasured landmarks, including the Opera House and The Grand Place.

2. ON Residence, Thessaloniki – Greece

With Greece’s second-largest city on your doorstep, you’re spoilt for choice at ON Residence – a waterfront mansion with dazzling Aegean Sea views. Inside, Neoclassical details blend with modern comforts in a minimalist palette of muted greys, greens, and soft pinks. Several of the Junior Suites come with seafront balconies, while a select few rooms boast Oriel windows. Formerly a working farm, Lupaia is a gorgeous, sustainably-focused agriturismo in the heart of Tuscany. The country estate dates back to 1622 and has 12 unique rooms and suites spread over five rural farmhouse buildings. Rustic yet luxurious, they feature cloud-like beds and modern walk-in showers paired with traditional tiles, exposed brick, bleached wood, and ornate antique furnishings. The open, tile-backed kitchen has a ‘whatever you want, whenever you want’ serving style, where guests are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and cook Italian classics alongside the chefs – with no set meal times or menus.
